PA6-CF 3D Printing Service
Bambu Lab PA6-CF· Carbon fibre nylon for stiff, light, heat-resistant structural parts.
Made in Navi Mumbai · Free delivery in Mumbai · Shipped across India
PA6-CF is nylon 6 reinforced with chopped carbon fibre. It is one of the stiffest and strongest materials you can print on an FDM machine, and it holds its shape at temperatures that would soften ABS or PETG. That makes it the go-to material for brackets, mounts, fixtures and drone frames that have to carry real loads.
We print PA6-CF in-house at our studio in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, on an enclosed Bambu Lab X2D with a hardened nozzle, because the carbon fibre wears out standard brass nozzles. As a drone and robotics workshop, we design and test parts for exactly the vibration and crash loads PA6-CF is chosen for. Parts are delivered free across Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai.

About Bambu Lab PA6-CF
Bambu Lab PA6-CF is a high-performance engineering filament made from PA6 nylon reinforced with chopped carbon fiber. It keeps its stiffness and strength in dry environments, which makes it a strong choice for load-bearing structural components, functional prototypes, jigs, fixtures, and end-use mechanical parts. The carbon fiber also gives prints a clean matte finish and good dimensional stability.
- Excellent stiffness and strength for structural and load-bearing parts
- High heat resistance for demanding applications
- Low warping and good dimensional stability thanks to carbon fiber reinforcement
- Premium matte surface finish that hides layer lines
- Ideal for jigs, fixtures, brackets, drone frames, and automotive parts
What PA6-CF is best for
- Drone frames, arms and motor mounts
- Robotics brackets and end-effectors
- Jigs, fixtures and assembly tooling
- Automotive and EV brackets and clips
- Heat-exposed housings near motors and electronics
- Replacement machine parts and load-bearing spacers
PA6-CF strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Among the highest stiffness and strength available in FDM printing
- Keeps its shape up to around 164 °C under load
- Light for its strength: about 1.09 g/cm³, lighter than PETG
- Matte carbon finish that hides layer lines
Limitations
- Absorbs moisture from the air over time, which lowers stiffness in Mumbai humidity. For parts in humid or outdoor use, PAHT-CF is the better choice
- Less flexible than plain nylon, so thin snap-fits can crack
- Strength across layers (Z) is about half of in-plane strength, so orientation matters

Design guidelines for PA6-CF parts
Follow these when preparing your file. Our team also checks every order before printing and flags anything that needs changing.
- Minimum wall thickness
- 1.5 mm; 2–3 mm for structural parts
- Unsupported overhangs
- Up to 45° without supports
- Minimum hole diameter
- 2 mm; ream or drill for bearing fits
- Clearance for moving fits
- 0.3–0.5 mm per side
- Part orientation
- Align the main load with the print layers (XY), not across them
- Threads and inserts
- Heat-set brass inserts work well; we can fit them for you
- Typical tolerance
- ±0.2 mm

PA6-CF 3D printing FAQ
01 What is PA6-CF best used for?
PA6-CF suits parts that need high stiffness, strength and heat resistance together: drone frames, robotics brackets, jigs and fixtures, and automotive parts. If a part bends too much in PLA or PETG, PA6-CF is usually the fix.
02 Is PA6-CF stronger than PLA or PETG?
Yes. PA6-CF has roughly three times the tensile strength of standard PLA (102 MPa against about 35 MPa) and is far stiffer. It also resists heat to around 164 °C, where PLA softens near 57 °C.
03 Should I choose PA6-CF or PAHT-CF?
PA6-CF is slightly stiffer and stronger when dry. PAHT-CF absorbs less moisture and handles higher heat, so it keeps its properties better in humid Mumbai conditions, outdoors or near engines. For indoor structural parts, PA6-CF is excellent; for humid or hot environments, choose PAHT-CF.
04 Can PA6-CF parts be drilled, tapped or fitted with inserts?
Yes. PA6-CF machines well: it can be drilled, tapped and reamed, and heat-set brass inserts hold firmly. It bonds well with two-part epoxy. It is hard to paint because of its textured matte surface.
05 Do you ship PA6-CF 3D printed parts across India?
Yes. PA6-CF parts are made at our studio in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, and shipped anywhere in India by BlueDart or Delhivery with live tracking. Upload your file to the instant quote calculator, choose PA6-CF, and the price is shown in about a minute with no minimum order.
